25 May 2010 The trial of those accused of murdering around 200 Prijedor residents at Koricanske stijene has been postponed due to the poor health of indictee Zoran Babic.
"He suddenly had some stomach problems yesterday. It took a day to get it under control. He is not in a hospital, but he is using some special tea. I would like the trial to be postponed," Slavica Bajic, Defence attorney of Zoran Babic, said.
In addition to Babic, Milorad Radakovic, Milorad Skrbic and Zeljko Stojnic, former members of the Interventions Squad with the Public Safety Station in Prijedor, and Dusan Jankovic, former Commander of the Public Safety Station, are charged with crimes against humanity.
The State Prosecution charges the five indictees with having participated in escorting a convoy of 1,200 Bosniak and Croat civilians, who were being transported from Prijedor to Travnik, and then separating and shooting about 200 men at Koricanske stijene on August 21, 1992.
It was originally planned for the Defence of indictee Dusan Jankovic to examine two witnesses and present more than 20 pieces of material evidence at this hearing. The hearing has been postponed until May 31, 2010.
The trial of the five indictees began in March 2009. The Prosecution completed its evidence presentation nine months later.
