12 March 2010 The Prosecution of Bosnia and Herzegovina has filed an indictment for confirmation by the State Court, against Ivica Perkovic, a former member of the Croatian Defence Council, HVO, who is charged with crimes against Serb civilians in Derventa.
The State Prosecution charges Perkovic, a former member of the 103rd Derventa HVO Brigade, with having "beaten, tortured and abused in other inhumane ways" Serbs, who were unlawfully detained in the Yugoslav National Army Center, the "Rabic" warehouse and the school building in Zelenika, Derventa municipality, from April to June 1992.
Ivica Perkovic, known as Mungos, is charged with having abused detainees, beaten and wounded them, using firearms, and tortured them in "an extremely brutal manner", causing severe bodily injury and mental suffering.
Data available to the State Prosecution indicate that Perkovic lives in Slavonski brod in Croatia and has citizenship of both Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia.
In March last year the Appellate Chamber of the State Court rendered a second instance verdict against Ivica Vrdoljak, a former member of the 103rd Derventa HVO Brigade, sentencing him to five years in prison for participation in crimes against civilians committed in Derventa and Bosanski brod in 1992.
