Week ahead: Prosecution's Closing Arguments at Vlasenica Crimes Trial

04 December 2009  Next week the State Prosecution is due to present its closing arguments before the War Crimes Chamber of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, at the trial of Predrag Bastah and Goran Viskovic.

Bastah and Viskovic, former members of police and military structures in Vlasenica, are charged with capturing, beating, raping and killing non-Serbs in that town between April and September 1992. The Prosecution of Bosnia and Herzegovina is due to present its closing arguments at a hearing scheduled for December 7.

On the same day and also on December 8 first witnesses will testify for the Defence of Zoran Babic at the trial for crimes committed at Koricanske stijene on August 21, 1992.  

Babic, Milorad Radakovic, Milorad Skrbic, Ljubisa Cetic, Dusan Jankovic and Zeljko Stojnic, former members of the Interventions Squad with the Public Safety Station in Prijedor, are charged with the murder of about 200 civilians who were separated from a convoy transporting civilians from Prijedor to Travnik.

Evidence presentation at the trial for crimes committed in the Kljuc area is due to continue on Monday, December 7, when Vinko Kondic, Bosko Lukic and Marko Adamovic, former members of the Crisis Committee in Kljuc, who are charged with participation in abetting genocide, crimes against humanity and war crimes, are due to appear before the Court.

On Tuesday, December 8 a status conference will be held as part of the trial of Suljo Karajic, a former member of the Fifth Corps of the Army of Bosnia and Herzegovina, who is charged with crimes committed in the Bihac District during 1994 and 1995.  

On the same day the Defence of Gojko Klickovic will continue presenting evidence at the trial for crimes committed in the Bosanska Krupa area. Klickovic, Mladen Drljaca and Jovan Ostojic are charged with participation in crimes against humanity during 1992.

The Defence of Ljubo Tomic and Krsto Josic, former members of the Republika Srpska Army, who are charged with having killed three Bosniak civilians in Kozluk, in Zvornik Municipality, in June 1992, is due to continue presenting evidence on December 8 this year.
