19 November 2009 Cross-examination of a Dutch Battalion Major has been postponed because the witness is ill.
Defence attorneys for Radomir Vukovic and Zoran Tomic were due to cross-examine, via video link, Major Robert Alexander Franken, former Commander of the Dutch Battalion which was stationed in Srebrenica in July 1995. The Prosecution of Bosnia and Herzegovina previously introduced his statement as material evidence.
"The Prosecution informed the Trial Chamber this morning that the video link examination would not take place because the witness is sick. He has flu," Trial Chamber Chairman Senadin Bektasevic explained.
The new date for the examination of the witness is November 26, 2009.
The State Prosecution charges Vukovic and Tomic, former members of the Second Special Police Squad from Sekovici, with participation in genocide committed in Srebrenica in July 1995, when the town was a protected United Nations zone.
The indictment alleges that the two men participated, on July 12 and 13, 1995, in collaboration with other members of the Special Police Squad, in capturing Bosniak men from Srebrenica and taking them to Kravica Agricultural Cooperative, where they were shot in the early evening of July 13.
