29 August 2008 Following the presentation of the court expert's findings concerning the injuries caused to witness 2, the public was excluded from the hearing at the trial of the former leader of the "Predini vukovi" unit.
Medical court expert Hasib Mujic, who was examined by the Prosecution of Bosnia and Herzegovina at the trial of Predrag Kujundzic, presented his findings and opinion about the injuries caused to witness 2. He said that, on the basis of "scarce medical reports", one could determine that the witness "was shot by a bullet on her right forearm on May 10, 1992".
"On the basis of medical reports, which have been provided to me for consideration, it is not possible to express an opinion about the qualification of the wound caused to witness 2," Mujic said.
Protected witness 2 testified at the trial of Predrag Kujundzic on August 27. The public was excluded during the course of her testimony.
The Prosecution of Bosnia and Herzegovina charges the indictee, as commander of the "Predini vukovi" ("Predo's Wolves") Paramilitary Formation, with having sexually abused protected witness 2, enslaving her from June to December 1992, while threatening her by telling her that he would kill her mother and sister. The Prosecution considers that Kujundzic restricted the freedom of movement of witness 2, who was a minor at the time, raped her and allowed other soldiers to rape her on the frontline.
During the course of cross-examination the court expert said that in a medical report, referring to witness 2, it was originally written that she had "explosive injuries", but this phrase was crossed and "bullet shot" was written instead. The court expert explained that an explosive injury can be caused by bomb or shell shrapnel, while a bullet shot can only be caused by shooting at someone with firearms.
Witness 4 was examined afterwards However, the public was excluded during the course of her testimony.
The indictment alleges that, in June 1992 Kujundzic and a few members of his Unit came to the house of witness 4. After he had ordered one of the soldiers to take her baby away, another soldier raped her. Witness 4 is witness 2's mother.
According to the official timetable of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina the trial is due to continue on September 1.
