A BIRN - Justice Report journalist appears on the TV show "Fulfilling justice through the courts", broadcast on BN Television from Bijeljina.
BIRN - Justice Report journalist Erna Mackic appeared on the TV show "Fulfilling justice through courts", broadcast live on BN Television from Bijeljina on April 4.
Participants on the show, which takes an informative and educational approach, spoke about problems facing judicial institutions dealing with war-crimes trials.
The show is part of a series created by BN Television in cooperation with the Helsinki Committee for Human Rights in Republika Srpska.
Besides the BIRN - Justice Report journalist, those who took part in the April 4 show were Bogdan Ivanisevic, a representative of the ICTY (International Center for Transitional Justice) from Belgrade, Vehid Sehic of the Citizens Forum from Tuzla, and Miroslav Mikes, an attorney from Banja Luka.
The main topics were the capacity of the BiH judiciary to try war crimes, regional cooperation among judicial institutions, the application of criminal legislation, and the recently adopted State Strategy for War-Crimes Trials.
Justice Report is a
specialist reporting agency focusing on war crimes trials taking place before
local courts; development of the local legal system; and efforts to come to
terms with the past.
