04 May 2009  BIRN - BiH offers internship for graduates and postgraduate students at our office in Sarajevo.

Internships are voluntary (unpaid), and interns will be required to work full-time (30-35 hours per week) during the internship period.

Programme:


  • Interns do have possibilities to learn first-hand about transitional justice and war-crimes trials, working alongside our staff and participating in our activities
  • Interns are expected to follow war-crimes trials at the BiH State Court and take part in BIRN's other activities, such as training, conferences, publications and so on
  • Interns are expected to write for our local and regional website
  • Interns have the possibility to work at our regional office in Sarajevo and visit offices in nine countries in the Balkan region.

Criteria:

  • Interns are expected to serve (uninterrupted) from a minimum of two months to a maximum of six months;
  • Interns must be university graduates, with a minimum of three full years of undergraduate studies, preferably with a background in journalism, human rights, political sciences or law, and have knowledge of the situation in the Balkans.
  • Be fluent in English. Knowledge of local languages is useful.
  • Must be computer literate.
